Police Recover Stolen Vehicle

A Windsor man is facing theft charges after police located a stolen vehicle while out on routine patrol Friday morning.

Patrol officers were on Birch St. in west Windsor when they saw a suspicious vehicle, with the driver's side door wide open, parked on the front lawn of a residence. Police discovered that the license plate on the vehicle was stolen and they began to investigate further.

A male suspect was seen around the vehicle and he was stopped for questioning. Police discovered that the vehicle was also stolen and there was construction equipment in and around the vehicle which is also believed to have been stolen.

The 35-year-old was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of stolen property.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
