Mud Stops Stolen Dodge Pickup Truck

A 30-year-old Windsor man may have some dirt on his name after OPP found a stolen vehicle stuck in some mud over the weekend.

Police say they got a report at around 8pm Saturday from a caller who told them that they saw someone abandon a truck that was stuck in the mud on Old Tecumseh Rd. near Wallace Line Rd., in Lakeshore.

The driver reportedly ran away from the scene.

Police say when officers arrived, they learned that the 2006 Dodge pickup truck had been stolen from Kingsville earlier that same evening.

At that point, the OPP's Emergency Response Unit and the K9 unit were both called in to help find the suspect.

Once the K9 unit tracked him down, the suspect was arrested and charged with theft and possession of stolen property.
