Town Of Essex Sets Dates For Ward Meetings

Essex residents will soon have their say.

The town is announcing it will host two ward open houses later this month.

Town councillors will be making presentations at both meetings. They plan to brief residents on what is happening in town and discuss projects that are ongoing and for the future. Members of the town administration will also be available to answer technical inquiries.

The doors for each event will open at 6:30pm. The presentation will begin promptly at 7pm. Open question and answer sessions will be held afterwards.

The first meeting will take place on Monday, November 27 in the Shaheen Room of the Essex Centre Sports Complex on Fairview Ave. W.  Ward 1 councillors Steve Bjorkman and Randy Voakes, and Deputy Mayor Richard Meloche will host, along with Mayor Ron McDermott.

The second meeting is on Tuesday, November 28 at the Harrow and Colchester South Community Centre on McAffee St. Ward 3 councillors Larry Snively and Ron Rogers, and Ward 4 Councillor Sherry Bondy will preside along with McDermott.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
