Potentially Dangerous Substance Recovered

Windsor police have recovered the potentially explosive substance that was stolen along with a vehicle last weekend.

Police reported on Thursday, that ten half-pound containers of tannerite were missing after a vehicle was stolen from a parking garage in downtown Windsor.

Police say they have arrested a 27-year-old Windsor man in relation to the case and charged him with break and enter, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of stolen property.

The tannerite has been recovered along with the outstanding license plates to the vehicle. The vehicle was recovered earlier in the week, but the potentially dangerous substance was not inside.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
