OPP Canines Find Elusive Suspect

The OPP canine unit was called to find a man trying to evade police after a speeding violation.

Essex County OPP first tried to stop the vehicle for speeding on Essex County Rd. 20 in Harrow on November 20. As the car started to pull over the passenger got out and took off. The car continued westbound through town.

The passenger was found in the area by officers and arrested for drug possession.

The car was later spotted in Amherstburg on Essex County Rd. 11. The vehicle didn't stop for Amherstburg police either but the car was later found in a parking lot on Essex County Road 12. The driver was not in the vehicle but was found in the area after the OPP canine unit was called in.

A 21-year-old from North York was arrested and charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police and driving while suspended. The passenger in the vehicle, also a 21-year-old from North York, is charged with drug possession.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
