Fire At Windsor Rubber Recycling Plant

A fire at a Windsor recycling plant is under investigation.

Windsor police say it started around 12:30am Wednesday at the Renewable Energy Technology Centre at 1680 Kildare Rd. near Seneca St.

Investigators have determined the fire was accidental. Hot metal shavings ignited in a bin after hours. The fire caused around $50,000 in damage.

No one was hurt, and so far there is no damage estimate.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
