Two Youths Charged In Bear Spray Assault

Two youths have been charged after two other people in Lakeshore were sprayed with bear repellent while attempting to stop a car break-in.

Lakeshore OPP say around on Wednesday around 12:30am, the victims saw two youths trying to break into vehicles on St. Charles St. When they approached and tried to chase the young thieves, they were doused with the bear spray.

Police announced on Friday that following an investigation, two youths have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. Both have been charged with administering a noxious substance with intent to annoy, two counts of mischief under $5,000 and eight counts of theft under $5,000.

The names of the two suspects are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
