Spits Edge Frontenacs 4-3

The Windsor Spitfires made a third-period comeback to earn a 4-3 victory over the Kingston Frontenacs on Friday.

Kingston drew first blood with a goal just over a minute into the game, but Curtis Douglas scored for Windsor after eight minutes to tie the game.  The Frontenacs scored another two back-to-back goals to take a 3-1 lead heading into the second.

After a scoreless second period, the Spits surged in the third with Jake Smith scoring a quick goal 28 seconds into the frame. Daniel D'Amico and Cody Morgan both scored early in the period to give Windsor the victory with a one-goal lead.

Spitfires goaltender Lucas Patton made 29 saves out of 32 shots on net.

The Spitfires will travel to Ottawa on Sunday to battle the 67's at 2pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
