OPP Urge Drivers To Stay Off The Roads

Provincial police are urging drivers to stay off the roadways due to drifting snow and a lack of visibility.

The Ontario Provincial Police in Essex County has responded to more than 20 collisions on Friday, including five involving tractor-trailers on Hwy. 401 between Windsor and Tilbury.

Roads are treacherous and if residents insist on driving Friday evening, the OPP is asking that drivers slow down and drive with extreme caution.

Drivers should also refrain from using their phones while driving and to ensure everyone in the vehicle is wearing a seatbelt.
