Call Alerts Police To Impaired Driver In Essex

The Ontario Provincial Police credit an alert driver for tipping them off to an impaired one.

The OPP got a call about a black pickup truck being driven erratically in the eastbound lanes of Hwy. 3 in Tecumseh around 4:15pm Sunday afternoon.

Police encourage the public to call them whenever they suspect they see a drunk or impaired driver on the road.

The pickup was found on County Rd. 23 in Essex, and while speaking to the driver, the officer came to the opinion he was impaired by a drug.

The driver, a 28-year-old Kingsville man, is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle. His license has been suspended, and the pickup, impounded. He will appear in a Windsor court on February 6.
