UPDATE: Howard Ave. In Lasalle Reopened After Head-On Crash

One person has been seriously injured after a head-on crash involving a dump truck in Tecumseh.

The Ontario Provincial Police says on Thursday around 12:40pm, an SUV travelling south on Howard Ave. crossed the centre median and hit a dump truck around Concession 7.

The lone occupant of the SUV was transported to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

Police say there was also a dog in the SUV at the time of the collision that was not injured and returned to a family member of the driver.

Howard Ave. between Concession 7 and County Rd. 7  in Tecumseh was closed for several hours to allow police to conduct an investigation. The road was reopened around 9pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
