Storm Knocks Down Spitfires 3-1

The Windsor Spitfires dropped a 3-1 decision to the Guelph Storm on Friday for their fifth straight loss.

The Storm kicked things off with a goal 11:59 into the first period to take a 1-0 lead heading into the second. Guelph continued to capitalize over Windsor by scoring another two back-to-back goals in the second frame to make it 3-0.

Curtis Douglas scored late in the third frame to put Windsor on the board but it was too late for the Spits to make a comeback.

Spitfires goaltender Michael DiPietro made 22 saves out of 25 shots on net.

The Spitfires are at the WFCU Centre again on Sunday to battle the Flint Firebirds at 2:05pm.
