Students Unhurt In Lakeshore Bus Crash

Ontario Provincial Police say students are safe after a Thursday morning school bus collision.

OPP spokesman Constable Jim Root says it happened around 8:30am. A bus carrying 13 elementary school children was travelling southbound on Renaud Dr. in Lakeshore. It was turning onto eastbound Oakwood Ave. when it struck a vehicle that was stopped at the intersection.

The driver of that vehicle, an 18-year-old woman, was not hurt.

The 54-year-old bus driver was cited for failing to make a safe turn.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
