UPDATE: Suspect Identified In Windsor Break And Enter

Windsor police have arrested a suspect in a January break-and-enter.

Officers from the WPS Property Crimes Unit took 40-year-old Gerald Lauzon into custody on Thursday, with the help of the ROPE (Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement) squad.

On the evening of January 12, police were called to a home on Norcrest Ave. off McNorton St. The homeowner came home around 8pm to discover the front door wide open, the rear patio smashed and some jewellery missing.

When the suspect was apprehended, property from a separate break-and-enter was found on him. Additional stolen property was found in a house that was searched by police.

Lauzon has been charged with break-and-enter and possession of stolen property.

Additional charges are anticipated, police say.
