Spitfires Edged By Storm 4-3

The Windsor Spitfires are now on a seven-game losing skid after falling to the Guelph Storm 4-3 on Thursday.

Windsor drew first blood with Luke Boka scoring 13:05 into the game, however, the Storm responded with two goals of their own before the end of the first period.

Guelph added another goal to take a 3-1 lead early in the second, but Chris Playfair and Jake Smith both scored for the Spitfires to tie things up heading into the third. The Storm scored with less than four minutes left in the game to snatch the win from Windsor.

Spitfires goaltender Michael DiPietro made 21 saves out of 25 shots on net.

The Spitfires are back on the ice on Saturday to battle the Spirit in Saginaw at 7:05pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
