UPDATE: All Clear At Tecumseh Vista Academy

The all-clear has been given at Tecumseh Vista Academy in Tecumseh after a possible natural gas leak was detected this morning.

Scott Scantlebury, spokesperson for the Greater Essex County District School Board, told BlackburnNews.com a gas smell was detected soon after secondary school students began to arrive Monday morning.

Fire crews say the source of the leak is a gas line supplying a rooftop appliance unit.  Students and staff were evacuated from the building and transported to St. Peter's Catholic Elementary school nearby until the all-clear was given by Union Gas.

The all-clear came just before 9:30am, and students are on their way back to their school.

Scantlebury says approximately 1,500 students attend Tecumseh Vista Academy.
