Melting Snow And Ice This Week Could Cause Flooding

The City of Windsor warns that milder temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday will increase the risk of flooding.

City officials say warmer temperatures over the next two days will melt much of the snow and cause possible surface flooding.

Residents are being asked to check their catch basins and make sure they are clear because if they are blocked it can lead to localized surface flooding.

Eves troughs should also be unclogged and downspouts free of ice to reduce the risk of surface flooding and foundation penetration. Large amounts of snow should also be removed from around the foundation to allow water to flow away.
