Arrest Made in Windsor RIDE Check

An impaired-driving check by Windsor Police results in an arrest.

Windsor Police say they conducted RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) checks Friday night into Saturday morning at three locations across the city.

One person was arrested after an on-the-spot breath test revealed they were driving above the legal alcohol limit.

The identity of the driver was not made public.

Police say they interviewed a total of 444 drivers during the checks. Two additional roadside sobriety tests were given, but no other arrests were made.

Four drivers also received traffic enforcement citations.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
