Windsor Police Arrest Suspect In Armed Robbery

Windsor police have arrested and charged a suspect in an armed robbery.

The robbery was on February 25, 2018, at a convenience store on Kildare Rd. Police released photos of the suspect the next day and received many tips that led them to identify a suspect.

He was seen in a car with another man on March 7, 2018, and was pulled over by police on Crawford Ave. The man was arrested without incident. The car was searched and police seized a loaded rifle.

Police were then granted a search warrant for a home in Polonia Park Place connected to the robbery. They seized clothing and a black pellet handgun believed to be used in the robbery.

A 27-year-old was arrested and charged with robbery, pointing a firearm, wearing a disguise while committing an offence, and a number of firearm-related offences.

A 22-year-old, the driver of the vehicle, was also charged with a number of firearm-related offences.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
