Saturday Shifts Cancelled At Windsor Assembly Plant, Syncreon

A strike at a Windsor auto parts firm is creating a ripple effect.

Chrysler's Windsor Assembly Plant has confirmed via Twitter that all shifts on Saturday have been cancelled "due to supplier issues".

Employees at the logistics firm Syncreon are also being told not to report to work on Saturday.

Employees at auto parts supplier ZF-TRW walked off the job Thursday night after rejecting a tentative agreement that was reached between the company and the employees' union, Unifor Local 444. Workers were on picket lines all day Friday at the company's two Windsor-Essex locations, according to a Facebook post by Unifor.

Three other auto parts suppliers, which feed the Windsor Assembly Plant, ratified their new collective bargaining agreements Thursday evening.
