Attack Hammers Spitfires 9-2

The Windsor Spitfires were decimated 9-2 by the Owen Sound Attack in OHL action on Thursday.

The Attack led the Spitfires in the first period by scoring two goals, before adding another 7:33 into the second to take a 3-0 lead.  Mathew MacDougall put Windsor on the board with a goal a few seconds later, but Owen Sound scored another five back-to-back goals before the end of the frame to leap ahead to an 8-1 advantage.

The Attack added one more goal early in the third period.  Jake Smith scored for Windsor with just under ten minutes left in the game, but Owen Sound held them off to win with an impressive lead.

Owen Sound also outshot the Spitfires 42-19.

The Spitfires will head to Flint on Saturday to take on the Firebirds at 7pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
