Charges After Man And Woman Assaulted

A 43-year-old Windsor man is charged with assault and aggravated assault after paramedics were called to a home in the west end over the weekend.

Windsor police dispatched patrol officers to a home on Daytona Ave. between Totten St. and Algonquin St. around 3:15am Saturday after an assault was reported.

A 51-year-old man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The woman was not hurt.

Police say the victims drove to the house, there was an argument, and it escalated into a physical confrontation.

The Major Crimes Branch is still investigating.

Anyone with information can call the Windsor Police Major Crimes Branch at 519-255-6700 ext. 4830, Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477 (TIPS), or go online to www.catchcrooks.com.

An earlier version of this story erroneously reported a 51-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries and that Windsor Police did not think his injuries were the result of the assault.  BlackburnNews.com regrets the error.
