Garage Fire Causes $10K In Damages

One person had to be treated for smoke inhalation after a garage fire broke out in Leamington.

The Leamington fire department reported the blaze on Hwy. 77 near Mersea Rd. 8, on Tuesday around 7:30pm, and fire crews were able to get it under control quickly.

The homeowner had to be treated for minor smoke inhalation at the scene after attempting to extinguish the fire.

Fire officials say it believed the fire started when the homeowner attempted to us an industrial oven in the garage.

Damage is estimated at around $10,000.
