High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

The Rock The Plaza music festival planned for this August at Windsor's Riverfront Festival Plaza will not be going ahead as expected.
Organizers issued a short news release Friday saying, "due to unexpected factors, which will impact the overall quality and experience of the festival, the difficult decision has been made to cancel the Rock The Plaza music festival."
The event was planned for August 10 to August 12.
The release says full refunds are available through the place of purchase. Internet and phone purchases will be directly refunded to the purchasing credit card.
