UPDATE: Six People Displaced After Walkerville House Fire

Damage is pegged at $350,000 after a house fire broke out in Walkerville.

The Windsor fire department says on Wednesday just before 3pm, firefighters arrived at the home on Kildare Ave. just south of Wyandotte Ave. near Tuscarora to find flames shooting through the roof. The blaze was brought under control just after 3:40pm.

All residents were able to make it out safely, but six people are displaced.

Damage to the home is estimated at around $300,000 while damage to contents in the home is estimated at around $50,000.

Fire officials say the blaze started on a second floor exterior balcony, however, the cause remains undetermined.
