Police ID Stabbing Suspect

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Windsor man after a woman he knows was stabbed in the neck in downtown Windsor.

The Windsor Police Service says on Tuesday around 9:30pm, officers were called to Ouellette Ave. near Riverside Dr. after the woman was stabbed by a man in front a downtown bar. Police initially stated her injury was non-life threatening, they now say the stab wound is life threatening

Officers are still looking for 21-year-old Benjamin Carter of no fixed address. He is described as a black male, 6'0" tall, around 210 lbs, with brown eyes and black hair. Investigators say he was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweater with a red shirt underneath, blue jeans, and white and red running shoes.

He is facing charges of attempted murder, assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, and breach of probation.

Police have not recovered a weapon.

They say Carter is considered armed and dangerous and is not to be approached.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
