Marouns Sell Michigan Central Station

Media outlets in Detroit say the iconic Michigan Central Station has a new owner; the Ford Motor Company.

The building, which has been largely abandoned by all but street artists and skateboarders since it shut down in 1988, was bought by the Maroun family in 1996.

The Maroun family also owns the Ambassador Bridge.

A few years ago, the Marouns started replacing windows in the structure.

The Detroit Free Press says the building could be the hub of a campus focused on advanced automotive technology, but an official announcement is not expected until June 19.
