Windsor DIGS Unit Seizes Rifles, Drugs

A variety of drugs and weapons were seized by Windsor police in a raid Wednesday.

Investigators obtained a warrant for a home on Brant St. near Louis Ave. Officers from the DIGS (Drugs and Guns Unit) arrested a man and a woman at the house without incident.

Among the weapons seized were two rifles, one of them loaded; along with a pellet long gun and two air pistols.

Police also seized 30 g of methamphetamine, 12.2 g of cannabis, 6.9 g of cocaine, 1.4 g of crack cocaine, 17 oxycodone pills, three hydromorphone pills and a bottle of methadone.

Also seized were a cell phone, $350 in Canadian and U.S. currency, packaging and two sets of brass knuckles.

A 48-year-old Windsor woman and a 47-year-old Windsor man are facing numerous weapon and drug trafficking charges.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
