Police Investigating Leamington House Fire

Police are investigating after a fire broke out at a Leamington home.

The Ontario Provincial Police say on Wednesday around 7:30pm, police, firefighters and EMS responded to the house fire on Bennie Ave. near Christina Cres.

The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal has been contacted and the OPP will be holding the scene until fire investigators arrive.

No further information has been released at this time.

Bennie Ave. between Peter Ave. and Christina Cres. was closed for several hours while emergency crews were at the scene, but it has since reopened.

Anyone with information regarding the fire is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
