Flood Warning Issued For Windsor-Essex

The Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA) has issued a flood warning until noon on Saturday.

ERCA says flooding is occurring along parts of the shore in Leamington, between Wheatley Harbour and Point Pelee National Park.

Wind gusting to 60 km/hr gets the blame for flooding in the Cotterie Park Rd. area. ERCA says parts of the road and private property are covered with water.

The conservation authority also says the shore of Kingsville, Essex, Amherstburg, the Detroit River, Tecumseh, Lakeshore can also expect to get higher water levels because of the strong wind.

ERCA says there is potential for shoreline flooding in those areas, along with the risk for damage to docks and other shoreline infrastructure on private lands and within marinas.

The public is advised to avoid areas where flooding is occurring.
