Shoreline Damage Possible Due To Strong Winds

The local conservation authority is warning of possible shoreline damage due to high winds.

The Essex Region Conservation Authority says winds with gusts up to 30 km/hr are expected to start Monday night and last until Wednesday morning.  The winds could cause nearshore erosion with wave overtopping along with breakwall damage.

Leamington along the Lake Erie shoreline between Wheatley Harbour and the tip of Point Pelee will most likely be impacted.

Residents are advised to use extra caution and avoid shoreline areas, as waves overtopping breakwalls can be extremely dangerous.
