Small Plane Crash In Detroit Kills Two

Authorities say two people are dead in a small plane crash in Detroit.

Multiple media outlets report that the Cessna, which was flying to Detroit from Arkansas and was attempting to land at Coleman Young International Airport on the city's east side, struck a tree on Milton St. near Forest Lawn Cemetery. It went down in a vacant lot.

Television station WXYZ reports that there were at least three people on board. It was also reported that the pilot had reported issues with the landing gear and low fuel.

One person was taken to hospital with injuries, but as of 11pm Sunday there was no word on their condition.

Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) were expected to be on scene.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
