Suspected Fentanyl Shuts Down Tecumseh Rd. E

Tecumseh Rd. E in Windsor was closed to traffic Friday evening after two people overdosed on what police believed was fentanyl.

Police say they were in a pickup truck that was involved in an accident on Tecumseh Rd. E near Buckingham Ave. around 6pm, but fled the scene.

Officers found the truck further east near Forest Glade Dr.

Inside, two people who had overdosed, and a substance police believed at the time was fentanyl.

Windsor Fire and Rescue Services and the hazmat team were called in to contain the scene and decontaminate the truck.  The road is open now.

Preliminary testing suggests the substance was not fentanyl.
