Trying To Fool Police Never Works, Just Ask A Windsor Woman

A Windsor woman accused of stealing a TV in Lasalle has been caught in an epic lie.

Police allege she snatched a 50" television from Zehr's on Tuesday just before close and took off in her car but not before store security got her licence plate number and called police. Officers went to the registered owner's house but her boyfriend told them she wasn't there.

The suspect in her 30's went to talk to police the following day but the investigating officer noticed that she had cut and dyed her hair. She denied the allegations saying that a friend of a friend borrowed her vehicle and blamed the theft on her. The officer didn't fall for it after noticing black dye under the suspect's fingernails that was the same colour as her freshly cut hair.

The officer also noticed that the woman in the surveillance video was the same woman on the suspect's driver's licence photo and charged her with theft.
