Tecumseh home cleared after gas leak

Crews have cleared a Tecumseh home after reports of a gas leak.

Tecumseh Fire and Rescue says it happened around noon on Monday in the area of Howard Ave. at Eastbourne Ave. Once the natural gas leak was discovered, the area was evacuated as a precaution and crews from Union Gas were dispatched to the area.

Union Gas ventilated the home and had cleared the scene by 1:30 p.m., according to a tweet from Tecumseh Fire.

Ontario Provincial Police had diverted traffic around the area while the leak was investigated.

No injuries were reported.
