Human remains mystery in Amherstburg

Windsor police are investigating after discovering human remains in Amherstburg.

Officers found the remains in a wooded area off 8th Concession Road between Alma Street and Texas Road on Monday afternoon. Police say they were there as part of an ongoing investigation.

The Windsor Police Service, which is now transitioning to fully police Amherstburg by January, examined the scene. A coroner attended and confirmed the remains were human.

Police said a visible police presence will be seen in and around the area as the investigation continues.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
