Alert police officers foil break-in near downtown

Some alert police officers are getting credit for foiling a break and enter in progress in downtown Windsor.

Police said officers were on patrol on Pelissier Street just south of Elliott Street Thursday night when they saw a man scaling down a pipe leading to a roof-top. They investigated and found a window with the screen punctured and the glass broken.

A 38-year-old Windsor man is charged after he was found with suspected break and enter tools.

A toy firearm was also discovered in the eavestrough.
