Driver arrested after truck hits downtown storefront

A driver is facing charges after his vehicle lost a battle with a downtown Windsor storefront.

Windsor police say they were called to the corner of Wyandotte St. E. and McDougall Ave. a few minutes past midnight Saturday morning. When they arrived, they found a pickup truck had crashed into the front window of a business. Upon investigation, they found the truck had struck a car head-on and ended up in the window as a result.

Only minor injuries were reported. The driver of the pickup was charged with impaired driving.

The investigation is ongoing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
