UPDATE: Police confirm Walkerville incident was a shooting

Windsor police have released additional details on a mysterious incident Saturday morning in Walkerville.

Investigators confirmed Sunday afternoon that the incident was a shooting, and one person was injured as a result.

Officers were first dispatched to a home on Hall Ave. between Assumption St. and Riverside Drive E. shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday on an "assist ambulance" call. One person was removed from the home and taken away in an ambulance.

BlackburnNewsWindsor.com visited the scene Saturday evening and found that the house was still roped off with yellow police tape just before 9 p.m. Investigators wearing protective coveralls were also seen in front of the house. Police were still seen outside the home Sunday morning.

Police will also only say that the Major Crimes Unit is continuing to investigate. There is no official word on the person's identity or condition, though messages posted on BlackburnNewsWindsor.com's Facebook page say the victim is an 18-year-old man with serious, life-threatening injuries.

It was not immediately clear if there is a search for a suspect. More information is expected to be provided on Monday.
