Windsor man accused of having $30K in stolen equipment

A Windsor man is facing multiple charges after allegedly being in possession of stolen property.

Windsor police say their Property Crimes Unit was investigating a commercial break-and-enter Wednesday. A man was spotted in the area of Tecumseh Road West and Huron Church Road allegedly with over $30,000 worth of stolen industrial equipment and was placed under arrest. Police allege the man had a knife and that the vehicle he was driving had stolen licence plates attached to it. A loaded modified rifle was also found in the vehicle.

Drew Trepanier, 31, is charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, two counts of breach of probation, possession of a prohibited weapon and several firearm-related charges.

These charges have yet to be proven in court.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
