Police: Howard Avenue crash caused by drunk driver

A 31-year-old Windsor man has now been charged with impaired driving after a crash on Howard Avenue early Monday morning.

Police said a black Volkswagen hit the back of a transport truck at Howard Avenue and Ellis Street on Monday at approximately 4:20 a.m. Investigators accuse the driver of being drunk. Police said the driver is in serious but not life-threatening condition in the hospital.

Howard Avenue was shut down between Shepherd Street and Ottawa Street for four hours while officers investigated.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
