Windsor police identify charged cop

Windsor police have now released the name of an officer charged with assault and impaired driving over the weekend.

Police were called to Greenpark Boulevard and Wyandotte Street just after midnight on Saturday for a group of vehicles that were stopped and a number of people reportedly being assaulted. Officers found an off-duty Windsor police constable with 20 years of service at the scene and arrested him.

Constable Ken Burt is now charged with impaired driving and four counts of assault. He has been suspended and is scheduled to appear in court on October 9.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.
