Windsor police investigating possible homicide

Windsor police confirmed they are investigating a homicide at an apartment in the city.

According to officers they were dispatched at 4:10 a.m. Saturday to an apartment building on University Avenue East for a report of a sick or injured person.

When they arrived an adult male was located and confirmed dead. Police said the deceased body showed obvious signs of trauma.

Officers added the scene was contained and an investigation was launched. Officers from the Forensic Identification Unit attended and processed the scene and patrol officers conducted a canvass of the area for witnesses.

Investigators from the Major Crimes Branch on the scene classified it as a homicide investigation.

Police said the investigation is in its initial stages and remains extremely active. No additional information has been provided.
