Two injured in downtown stabbing

Windsor police are investigating a stabbing in the downtown core.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday on Ouellette Ave. at Maiden Lane. Officers responded to that location on a report of a stabbing.

One person sustained serious injuries and is in stable condition in hospital. It was not immediately known if the injuries are life-threatening. A second person received minor injuries.

According to police, officers had responded to a call near that location shortly after 1 a.m. on a report of a fight. It is not known if these incidents are connected and no additional information has been released.

Police are looking for a suspect who is being described as a black male. Anyone with information who has not already spoken with police is urged to call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, or Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477).

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
