Two Windsor men charged in Saturday murder

Two men have been charged in a murder that took place in downtown Windsor this weekend.

The Windsor Police Major Crimes Division made the arrests in connection with the incident that occurred early Saturday morning at an apartment building on University Ave. E. near McDougall St. One suspect was arrested Saturday afternoon, the other Saturday evening; according to Sergeant Steve Betteridge, WPS public information officer.

Lamar Day, 28, of Windsor, has been charged with first-degree murder and forcible confinement. Raheem Washington, 25, is also facing those two charges, plus a number of charges related to breaching of prior court-ordered conditions.

These charges have yet to be proven in court.

The adult male victim has not yet been identified. No further details have been released.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
