Police presence at St. James Catholic Elementary School

Parents dropping off their children at St. James Catholic Elementary School in Windsor may have noticed a police presence Wednesday morning.

Windsor police confirm they are conducting an investigation at the school.

Sergeant Steve Betteridge said a teacher at the school made a complaint, and a person of interest has been identified.

He told BlackburnNews.com the person is not connected to the school.

A spokesman for the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board, Stephen Fields, would not comment on the nature of the investigation, calling it a police matter.

He said there is no immediate threat to students at the school.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
