Woman's body pulled from Detroit River

Windsor police are investigating after the body of an elderly woman was pulled from the Detroit River.

Officers were called to the area of Riverside Drive and Goyeau Street on Thursday around 3:30 p.m., after a passerby spotted the body floating near the edge of the water.

Police officials said it is too early in the investigation to say if the woman's death is suspicious, however, there were no obvious signs of trauma to the body.

Investigators are currently working to identify the woman.

No further information has been released at this time.
