Unemployment keeps rising in Windsor

Windsor's unemployment rate has jumped again.

It has gone up 0.7 per cent from August to 7.3 per cent last month. It's the third increase in a row.

Ontario's jobless rate went from 5.7 percent in August to 5.9 per cent in September. Employment increased by 36,000 -- the third increase in four months. On a year-over-year basis, full-time employment in Ontario grew by 103,000.

Canada's unemployment rate declined 0.1 percentage points to 5.9%. Employment rose by 63,000 jobs in September, driven by an increase in part-time employment.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
