KFC restuarant downtown seeks final site plan approval

Windsor may soon have a new KFC restaurant downtown.

Amico Properties is seeking city council approval for a new restaurant at the corner of Wyandotte Street East and Windsor Avenue.

It would be a one-storey building with a drive-thru big enough to handle 12 vehicles and 31 on-site parking spaces.

That corner has a lot of traffic since it is adjacent to the entrance to the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel.

The land has been vacant since 2016 when the previous building there was demolished.

A report to council does not say when construction would start or when the restaurant would open but does say the applicant is seeking a quick approval to avoid any delays in the development.
