Leamington house fire under investigation

Firefighters tackled a morning house fire in Leamington.

The Leamington Fire Service said it happened around 8:30 a.m. Friday. Crews were called to a home on Bennie Avenue near Clarence Avenue, not far from Wilkinson Park.

The fire was soon brought under control and investigators soon assessed the damage. The cause of the fire is undetermined but damage estimate is around $25,000.

There were no reports of injuries, though it was not clear if anyone was home at the time.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
